As a horticulturist and florist, I understand flowers and what it is you require from them for different situations. Varieties grown on the farm are chosen carefully; it is important that each plant suits our growing conditions in order to produce healthy stems with maximum vase life, beautiful colour and scent.
I use organic and no-dig practices; this means minimal disturbance to the soil ecosystem. The earth is fed by mulching with organic matter and no harmful substances are used. Not only is this way of working more time efficient and sustainable, but the busy soil ecosystem is left to work in peace and as a result our flowers flourish.
We deliver weekly to postcodes EH1-EH38 and collection from the farm by appointment is very welcome. We are happy to discuss possible delivery services with customers in the Scottish Borders.
The harvesting season begins in late March with double tulips, ranunculus and anemones. Sweet peas are a very special crop for us and we grow an overwhelming amount for both flowers and foliage. Summer harvest includes scented peonies, roses, dahlia, phlox, zinnia and cosmos. Dahlias continue late into autumn alongside the arrival of chrysanthemums. The season ends in November.
